It’s that time of the year again!

Dear Racing Engineering Friends,

The team at work in MontecarloThough it may seem unbelievable, here we go again. After some months of well deserved rest, preparations and meetings, Racing Engineering is ready to start a new season.

The pace has been picking up during recent months. We have some new people on board, but most of the guys have been part of the family for a while. All of them equally committed, hard-working and enthusiastic about the task at hand. And, for 2010, it isn’t an easy one. On one side, we have a very quick and technically skilled driver, who will be with us for the second season running and who, on top of all his talents, knows how Racing Engineering works and is fully integrated into the team. I’m talking about our Dani Clos. On the other, we have a young, but yet very mature driver, who is improving with each lap in the car, and who is bringing to the team a great sense of self discipline. This is Christian Vietoris, who has teamed up with us for his GP2 debut season.

Everybody knows that we have a strong line-up for this season, and this makes Racing Engineering one of the most serious candidates for the 2010 title. Both drivers have had an excellent pre-season. Improving both themselves and the car with every test session, meeting and physical preparation. For different reasons, and with their own motivations, the target remains the same: to be at the very top.

Our engineers and mechanics have also faced different challenges: getting the most out of the car in some cool pre-season testing conditions, very different from what we will encounter during the season, hasn’t been easy. Preparations were dampened when Eyjafjallajoekull, the Icelandic volcano, decided to fill the sky with ash, causing one of the biggest air traffic chaos known in recent times. Leaving many of our engineers, mechanics and Christian stranded in their places of residence.

Still, not even that could stop us. As soon as conditions improved, and in a marathonian week, we studied the data collected during the winter tests, finalized all meetings and preparations and packed up the truck, ready for the first three races of the season. That’s what Racing Engineering is: a team of wonderful people committed to success and willing to go the extra mile under any circumstances.

All because this is our goal: to win both championships this year.

So we invite you to join us this season and enjoy our progress through the ten race meetings that form the 2010 calendar. See you in Barcelona!
